City boys take 2

January 19, 2006

heyheyhey! Well… since I am sitting down here in the computer lab waiting for my roomie to return I thought I’d start the next update. Yes, I am currently locked out of the room. It’s because I lost that damn key remember? And I honestly just don’t want to go to the front desk to find out it’ll be like £50 to replace it. So the last few days have been awesome. I mean ‘wicked’ – they just don’t use awesome here, at all. I found the best place in the world is Hyde Park. Running there is soo amazing. I dont even know how to describe it except AMAZING! It is so beautiful. Honestly, I was running yesterday and I just felt so completely apart of London that I can imagine living anywhere else. I’m moving here after graduation. I don’t even get those “Holy Crap! We’re in LONDON!!!” feelings anymore. It’s like I’ve always been here.

Last night… So I’m absolutely horrid at waking up on time. Every night I go to bed saying – I will wake up at 9 or 10 and around noon I wakeup. So my day consisted of a run followed by getting ready for the night. Roomie and I then went to Piccadilly to drop off her extra phone and get dinner at The King Arms – very good burgers. So yea, then we met up with TZ and another of the City boys. We felt horrible because we had told them to get something to eat because we were taking so long – we’d get food on the way. Well, apparently they had really wanted to take us to this little Indian food place! Sorry! Granted it was prolly all for the better for me because I would prolly have to eat something else because Indian food has lots of weird spices and nuts and stuff, right? It’d suck to have an allergic reaction just because I can’t understand them speaking – everyone here has really strong accents. Instead we waited for the boys to come pick us up from the Tube station and we stopped off at Burger King for the guys to get some food. Then it was off to City Uni to see TZ’s place.

Wow! The City flats are stricter than the boys’ dorms back home! (I visited TZ last yr at them) You have to check guests in before 10pm and out before midnight. Well, guess it is better than our place: no guests at all. TZ’s room is sweet though. He has it all to himself plus his own bathroom. We hung out there for the night. The rest of the City boys joined us and we shared a bottle of wine and then a bottle of vodka. For the record, my roomie said, “hun, I’m cutting you off at 4 shots.” And wouldn’t you be proud of me – despite the persistent KK, I stuck to my four and even spaced them out – so I was only slightly buzzed by the time we went home. We had a blast just sitting around chillin with the guys. Hanging with them in a dormlike room reminded me a lot of nights in back at home sitting around drinking in the dorms. Minus the video games. We just sat around and talked. Sure, everyone picked on me – reminisce of college in the states – but for my very low tolerance of alcohol. It’s ok though. Don’t worry. I am limiting myself. I’ve only been drunk 2x since being here. lol.

L
ater, when it was time to go the City boys walked us all the way to the bus stop and saw us onto our bus. The wrong bus, but no matter. They still were incredibly sweet. It was funny actually – whenever we get together with those City boys it always ends up KK and Rich and roomie talking and then TZ and I talking. Not to complain – we both love all the boys – but I barely know KK or Rich and she barely knows TZ. I think next time we see them we’ll switch it up a bit. Naturally the guys just gravitate toward the usual I think. TZ especially seems to do that. I think it is because we have soo much in common (same high school, hs classes, teachers, even friends, and similar majors and goals and values) but we never really spoke ’til last year. He is such a funny guy. I love talking to him. He wants me to set him up – but honestly… I wouldn’t know where to look. I don’t know many girls here – especially one who would have so much in common and stuff to talk about with him. Ugh. I’ve always been just a so-so matchmaker. Nothing to write home about. We talked about a lot of things last night as a group. Discussed classes, traveling, things to do in London, porn shops, injuries, and my personal favorite: guys making the first move. All the boys talked about being shut down once in the past and therefore not wanting to get crushed again. My roomie and I have had these discussions before. Honestly, why should we have to make the first move? They never do. Well, when guys do it always seems they forgot to check and make sure that the girl likes them first. What a discussion. lol. A little too short for my taste. I think we need to talk a little further on that topic. Those boys need girl advice! They are absolute perfect guys and any girl is lucky to be with them but they lack the confidence that they really can get any girl. Granted they do need to go after the single ones but really all it takes is initiative on their end and guaranteed if you met them (YES im talking to YOU, the girl reading this) you would really find them charming, and great boyfriend material. It’s a bummer they are so young.

TZ and I talked all the way back to the bus stop then. About everything really. Travel was huge. He wants to get a small group of us, maybe the City Boys, my roomie, and I to travel together. Do a big trip – he was talking Morocco for quite a bit. It sounds awesome but £££? Otherwise Russia. Or to do a trip that hits Budapest, Prague, and Vienna – now that’s exactly what I want to do. I gave up a trip just like that last year because it cost too much. Now I’m regretting it majorly. It was nice to find out I’m not the only one who just wants to finish school as quickly as possible to move here and get right onto that career.

Cheers!

TXTS…
